Grandparents tend to become some of the most cherished people in our lives. They patiently wait years for our arrival and once we are in their lives they love to spoil us with their love in a variety of ways. As we grow up, they share with us their love, their recipes, their vintage clothes, the stories of their lives, and the wisdom they’ve gained over time. Whether those talks be in person or over the phone talking with our grandparents can be some of the most wonderful little moments of life.

When a baby picks up the phone…

For some fairly new grandparents, it was a wonderful surprise when they went to call their child only to have their 17-month-old grandchild pick up the phone to have a chat.

Answering every question in his own special way.

So as all grandparents do they start asking the little one questions about his day to day adventures. Even questions about what he had for supper last night. Surprisingly after each question, the little one seems to understand but answers in his own special way.

This toddler who loves to talk.

As the little one continues to pace around his Grandpa lets him know he is little chatty fellow saying,

“You’re a talker you know that?”

To which the toddler responds appropriately letting his Grandfather know he understood exactly what he just said.

The toddler even confirms his attendance at his Aunt’s birthday.

As the toddler continues to tell his grandparents about all the things he’s been going through day to day in detail the grandparents ask him another question if he’ll be coming up for his Aunt’s birthday and once more he shows he understands by giving a little nod. Then he proceeds to go back into his tangents about his days at home with mom and dad.

Talks on the phone just like an adult.

Just as we adults do when we talk on the phone the baby finally stops pacing around and decides to take a seat as he continues his phone call.

Understands what is being spoken but doesn’t have the words quite yet…

It is like this tiny toddler understands every word because when his grandmom inquires the little one if he got to go outside today he goes right up to the window!

The little one does mumble one word that we can all understand though.

But as the little one mumbles to his grandparents what the outside is looking like his tiny arm gets stuck between the wall and the window panel. This time letting out a word we can all understand “ow!” which leads his grandparents to inquire about what just happened.

Ow! What happened? You got a boo boo?”
